The international secretary of CDU, Miro Kovač, who is assumed to be the new minister of foreign affairs, has made a statement on Saturday saying that Croatia isn’t and mustn’t become a permanent admission center, that it has to be strict and efficient and if necessary it should close borders and physically protect them. He deems that if Slovenia and Austria are to close their borders that Croatia must do the same, by using military troops. He also didn’t deny the possibility that a wire fence will be put up if necessary, but that would be for a new government and parliamentary majority to decide. The ex-minister of internal affairs, Ranko Ostojić, responded by saying that Croatia has not become a Hot spot and that somebody else would determine how to act in that situation.
